It's family reunion time, which means extended family photos!

Some tips for group pictures:

~ Make sure the little ones aren't hungry! Hungry kids hate photoshoots, and who can blame them! I never do a shoot with an empty tummy, they shouldn't have to either! Even just a quick snack will help!

~ Relax. Don't worry about your child being perfect - they pick up on that stress, and get stressed too. Relaxed people get better photos ;)

~ Pick a location or time of day that has some shade to work in.

~ Have fun and let the photographer do their job!

I ♥ Faces: Fix-It Friday #5

This is not a photo I took. This is from I ♥ Faces - a really cool photography blog I stumbled across early this week. Today is their "Fix-It Friday" ... they post a picture that needs help, then we get to play in photo editing.

Here's the before, and MY after:

I use Adobe PhotoShop CS3 for my editing. I didn't change the crop of this photo, because I already loved the composition. I saw the original, and began to imagine what he was looking at. So I stuck with simplicity, just accentuating the original, without taking from the integrity of the composition.

If I get bored with tidying the house later, I'll come back and show some more edits. If YOU get bored, check out other's cool edits on this same photo HERE!

Taking a break ... and came up with this ... it's not great, but I feel guilty for leaving the dishes ... at least, I *should* feel guilty and hurry back to them.

2009 Senior!

This was a fun shoot - her mom and sister came along, and I kept giggling as they helped her smile "just right". It worked - she is one gorgeous senior! Unfortunately we lost sunlight way too quickly, so you'll see more of this beauty this weekend (aren't her blue eyes amazing?!)

This cutie invited me to go shopping for clothes first, since I'm a "famous" photographer. Talk about making me feel special! This was one of my top photo-shoots ever. I hope this Birthday-Girl felt like a STAR today - she was definitely sparkling for the camera!

Talk about a good sport! This gorgeous 2009 Senior was in town on a weekend of rain, wind, and cold, and still was all beautiful smiles! Can I just say that the fourth picture makes me think of "Bella" from the Twilight series (((sigh!))) I hope that her Senior year is wonderful!

My life is complete! I am now the proud owner of PS CS3 (giggle!) It's so wonderful, I'm absolutely giddy. For your enjoyment, a bit of sweet-baby-chub eye candy (sigh). I can't believe it's been six months since I took this photograph - this little guy was only 5 months old then! I couldn't believe that he could be any cuter - but PS CS3 brought even more of the sweet cuteness out!

This sweet little angel still seemed to be trailing heavenly clouds --- at just a week and four days old, she's the youngest I've photographed so far. She was so calm and alert, such a loveable little bundle! She fits in so perfectly with her sweet family!
